i like everything about the costume excpt the hat its way too big what can i put insetad of a hat but still keep my pirate look?

a bandanna, some metal bangle style bracelets, hoop earings, cheap knee high boot at Ross (cheap!), thigh high stockings with lace on the top rim. a couple rings.
watch pirates of the carribean and get some ideas.

You could buy a black pirate hat and some pink feathers in it
You can get the feathers at a crafts store for like 1-4 bucks
hat like 15-20 bucks
I actually think the hat is cool.You could wear a patch over your eye instead! That would be cute.

try making a sword/cutlass etc out of cardboard and paint it or cover it in foil..
